Week in Review - 4/26/13

Well, this week has lacked posts because not only was little Jack sick but it hasn't been the greatest week.  Between waking up to a dead car one day and now having our air conditioner out in the middle of a 90 degree heat wave, it's been a mediocre week.  And then, for some reason, once Jack was better he decided to go on a terrible twos terror.  Or something.  He started having real temper tantrums.  The kind where he laid on the ground screaming and crying for 20 minutes.  The kind where he throws anything and everything in reach.  Including a glass on our counter or a wine bottle in Vons.  Charming stuff.

Never fear though!  He saves that kind of behavior for his mommy.  For daddy, on the other hand, he is all smiles and joy.  Because he sure loves his daddy.  He starts the day by begging to go to "BeaBea's" with daddy which is our favorite breakfast place and has become kind of a family ritual.  You should see this kid chow down on pancakes and sausages.

When he's not taking his daddy out to breakfast, he's sitting on the counter listening to the special CD that John made for him.

 Or playing his guitar.

This week was all about trains. First we went to Descanso Gardens with Violet and her parents and rode the Enchanted Railroad there. He loved it!

Then we went to Griffith Park's Travel Town with our playgroup and had another good time on their train.

And now here are more pics from the week!

He learned how to fly like Superman on the swings and he's into it!

Trip to Sky City Bounce House!

This is Sky City. It's bounce house mecca tucked away in an industrial park about 30 minutes north of LA. It's like 4 different rooms with 3 story high ceilings all filled with bouncy houses. But when I say "houses" I mean a huge combination of inflatables...regular houses and obstacle courses and giant slides. We took a field trip with our play group and it was lots of fun.

Jack started in the toddler room but he was a little put off by the many many toddlers running around (shocking) and instead chose to wander around the empty big kid room.

His friends eventually caught up with him though and he had a great time. Especially at snack time. :)

Week in Review 4/12/13

How cute is that picture? Jack is definitely enjoying having his daddy home on the weekends. Last weekend we took a trip to the farmer's market. While my goal was strawberries and tomatoes, Jack's goal seemed to be the petting zoo and the rotating swings.

All weekend he enjoyed riding on his daddy's shoulders which is his new favorite thing. "So high!"

This week we had this giant clothing swap with my moms club and Jack was super helpful. While I was helping sort over 8000 items, he was hiding among the boxes and playing in dirt.

We also went to a birthday party for one of Jack's little friends. I have to say, Jack had a BALL. In fact, all week long moms came up to me and said that they thought it was the most fun they had ever seen Jack have. It was adorable. Might have had to do with the fact that it involved his two favorite things... a bouncy house and water.

The real cuteness though was watching him at the "painting wall". They had covered an outside wall with paper and brought out all this paint. Jack, in his swim diaper, really got into it. So adorable.

And here are a few more pics from the week...

of course! shopping on a tennis court...

in his spot, waiting for aunt leslie and pepe.  who wont' be hear for a week.

Bathtime Giggles

Just a little video of our latest bath. Someone got a case of the giggles. And decided that bath water tastes amazing.

Week(s) in Review - 4/5/13

Haven't done one of these in a while so of course I have a lot of photos to share. We've been keeping busy with classes and playgroups but, of course, Jack's favorite activity is playing with his numbers.

I do try to push the social activities though. He knows all his friends and talks about them at home, but once we're at play group he would rather play by himself. One boy in his group, Owen, loves him though and follows him around everywhere. Jack must like him deep down though, because he tolerates all the attention.

As I said though, he doesn't love giant crowds of kids. We had an Easter party with a bunch of other little toddlers and after a crazy loud hour and a half, Jack disappeared. I found him in his room. Reading. Out loud. By himself.

What a nerd.

And now more pictures of the nerdy, adorable, 2 year old...
