Bathtub Lessons

So, while Jack is still late to this "talking" thing, he has no trouble recognizing words. And his receptive vocabulary is growing by the day. This weekend we were flabbergasted when we would take his hand and ask him to walk to the microwave. Done. Let's go play with the toys. Straight from the kitchen to the family room toy box. Where's the Pavement/Sonic Youth poster? He walked right over to it on the wall. (That one really made John proud). He even found John's guitar behind a closed door in the guest bedroom when we asked him to. So awesome!

Later he was in his bath and we decided to quiz him about his toys. He did pretty well! Before you watch the video (which is truly only interesting to grandparents and parents), let me explain that I really do know that this is pretty normal development stuff for a baby his age. I'm not saying he's a genius or anything. It's not really advanced even. But it's just amazing to me as a first time parent to see him start to understand what I'm saying when he was just a pink fleshy newborn a few months ago. Crazy.
