Top 5 Things I'm currently missing about my pre-child life:
5. Running errands and browsing aisle at my leisure
Jack had yet another whining meltdown in a store this week. He just seems allergic to retail. Which is fine. But it's not like I was in a dressing room trying on clothes or something. I was literally just grabbing some home essentials that we needed. Sigh.
4. Long showers free of a toddler throwing in bath toys
3. Eating in a restaurant at my own pace, without a squirming child in my lap. Or, more likely, without chasing Jack around the restaurant.
2. Not being exhausted at all times. I don't know what's wrong with my lately but my body is physically so tired at the end of the day. And I only have one kid so I don't know what I'm complaining about.
1. Silence. I am so happy Jack is babbling a lot now. Really. So happy. But between the babbling and the whining and the crying, silence is a very rare thing.
And you?
Love this!
ReplyDeleteI miss date nights that lasted longer than 2 hours. Now they start after E goes to sleep and end at about 9:30 when we are both exhausted.
I miss no fuss flying! It takes me days - no, weeks! - to think of ideas for our plane trips that will entertain a toddler and keep him contained in one place. Why can't I just listen to my ipod and fall asleep?
love,
Cara
I agree - this is great!
ReplyDelete1. Date nights that don't include the cost of a babysitter.

3. Having enough room for passengers in my car (without having to take the carseats out).
4. The ability to schedule meetings or phone calls whenever I wanted.
5. Eating dinner after 6pm (and waking up after 7am).
Love it! Hahaha too cute he throws his bath toys into your shower :)
ReplyDeleteOh Lisa, you are not alone in any of this I promise!
