Jack's second 4th of July

Jack's second 4th of July was lots of fun. We started off the day at a local parade. It was perfect for Jack...a short distance, only about 45 minutes, and full of kids. All the kids had decorated their bikes and tricycles and wagons with streamers and American flags. There were two marching bands which Jack was in awe of.  In fact, Jack spent the whole parade sort of awestruck and quiet. He was taking it all in I guess. Though his studious face could be mistaken for his grumpy face.  :)

Of course, that frown turned upside down when he got to ride on his daddy's shoulders!

We were joined by Kevin, Stacey, and little Violet who looked adorable in her festive holiday dress.

Later in the day we went to a BBQ at my friend's house that was full of Jack's little friends from his play group.  It was so nice to see all the kids together.  They still are not quite old enough to play "together" but they play "around" each other.  :)  I was trying to wrangle Jack the whole time (and, let's face it, eating a hot dog and mac n' cheese) so I didn't take many pictures.  I did manage to get these two though of Jack and his little friend Madelynn.  They just crack me up.

All in all, a very successful holiday!
