Non-professional photo shoot

This post is about two months old but I've been meaning to share these pictures. My friends from London were in town and Jack and I headed down to Santa Monica where they were staying to hang out. We decided to take a walk on the beach and my friend's husband brought his camera. Photography is kind of his hobby (when he's not being a professional opera singer) and he seemed to think that Jack was an amazing subject. I agreed. Especially once I saw all the photos. I think they are so great. My favorite is probably the one above, but check them all out!

Since we've been gone...

I haven't posted any new pics of Jack in so long so here are some of my favorites from the past few weeks.  He somehow used to be smaller than all his friends and now he's bigger and taller than them all.  He looks so old now.  Enjoy!

"riding" his new tricycle

Sitting in a tent in our mommy and me class.  What you don't see to the right of the frame is a circle of about 12 moms and their toddlers singing songs and dancing.  Jack is more of an observer for sure.

Swimming like a "fish" as Jack says.  His new favorite bath time activity.

Banging on the ivories

resting on the parachute

Giggles on the bed

Lunchtime with his favorite book by Cheech Marin.  Sigh.

"Say cheese!"

I thought we were done with the pictures.  Jack obviously disagreed.

His new favorite thing in the whole world is to jump on the bed.  He thinks it's a laugh riot.

"It's so nice and relaxing out here on the patio Mom."

Brace yourself...

Because these are some damn cute photos.  My little Spider-boy was having fun outside the other day and I had to grab my "real" camera to capture his joy.

Backyard photo shoot

We took a few photos the other day in the backyard because, why not? Sadly I didn't bother cleaning him up or wiping the dirt off his face, but he's still pretty damn adorable.

Overalls make the man

So yesterday Jack was sporting a cute pair of corduroy overalls and it was a beautiful sunny day so I was inspired to actually pick up my real camera. The photos, if I do say so myself, are ADORABLE. Makes me think how ridiculous it is that I don't use my big SLR camera more often. So here are the pics, presented without comment. :)

It's Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas

It's no secret that John and I love Christmas and we're determined to have Jack love it as well. This year I decorated the house to the nines because I figured now that I have a kid, I finally have an excuse to go all out. That's the little stocking that I got him. I know it's obviously only good for this first Christmas but I couldn't commit to a permanent stocking. :)

This weekend we went to the tree lot and picked out a tree. Not surprisingly, he enjoyed looking at all of them.

He and his daddy picked out a beautiful noble fir and we strapped it to the top of the car and drove it home. The little guy seemed fascinated by the fact that we were about to bring one of this favorite outdoor things INSIDE the house. How awesome!

We got the tree up and it looks lovely. And, amazingly, he hasn't pulled it down yet.

On Friday Jack and I ventured out to the local "fancy" outdoor mall to meet Santa. They have set up a gorgeous giant Santa's house with a lawn and tons of decorations. I brought my camera along to capture the moment. We were waiting in line when the woman behind me asked, "Does this cost money?" "No", I answered. What a ridiculous question. Then as I got closer to the front I thought, hmm, I wonder if this does cost money. I wonder if they'll even let me take a picture. Well, I hope you enjoy the pics below because, YES, it does cost money. And it costs A LOT of money for a few damn pictures with an old man that they don't let you take yourself. But we waited in line and this was his first Christmas so I splurged. Please enjoy.

Yup, he cried at the end. But he lasted a pretty long time before breaking out the tears. I was so proud of him. :)
