New mom utility belts

I don't know why this hasn't been invented yet...maybe it has. All I know is that I need to start wearing a utility belt around the house. I suppose an old school fanny pack might work but a mommy belt would be better. The past three weeks have been great because John has been home and when I've got my hands full with Jack, I can ask him to get me something. All that's about to change because he's going back to work and I'm not sure how I'm going to manage with only two hands. That's where a mommy utility belt would be helpful. I'd have a compartment for a burp cloth (since he always seems to spit up at least once in every location), one for my phone (which is where I simultaneously track his breastfeeding and pass the breastfeeding time with Scrabble), a holder for the TV remote (on the very off chance that I could watch an actual episode of something), a camera slot (for all of those times when he looks absolutely adorable), and a holster for a water bottle (because I'm constantly thirsty). Of course I could come up with 10 more compartments but I'm trying to keep this a realistic utility belt. :-)

  1. YES. I used to use my nursing pillow like that. I had a "My Brest Friend" (cheesy name, "brest" is just stupid) pillow that had a buckle and waist strap, so when I put it on, it was like having a little shelf for the baby. It also had a pocket, which was good for carrying stuff around. Extreme? Yes. Dorky? Yes. But so helpful.
