ReplyDeleteI agree with your assessment of Mad Men - Kyle makes me watch it and I just don't understand it. However, I really enjoy one-shouldered formal dresses. I like a little asymmetry in formal wear, but I hate asymmetrical hems. I don't dislike Christmas music in a traditional sense, but if Mariah Carey comes out with another rendition of Silent Night, I will protest.

Cara, how can you hate Hoda and Kathie Lee? They are the best part of the Today show. And Kerry, you're #1 made me crack up. Very funny.
ReplyDeletethe first things that came to mind are all political, but i'll save those for other venues (such as kevin's ears) and try to stick with the theme of things lots of other people enjoy but that i don't see the appeal of.
ReplyDeleteobviously i'm with you on all of these - especially one-shouldered oscars dresses, ugh - except for kale. i gotta love a dark leafy with a texture that stands up in a saute! mad men i can't say, as i've never seen it, but it looks like a snore to me.

I watch Mad Men (though I certainly don't think it's amazing or even great, but I do enjoy it) for two reasons: its aesthetic (come on, even if you don't like it, surely you can see why people like me would go for it) and John Slattery. The writing is hit or miss and it's pretty depressing overall, but man, Roger Sterling is a charming SOB.
